You fit in my hands the night we brought you home. Dark brown and black with floppy ears that were bigger than your body.
Bailey loved you at first sniff. The two of you were inseparable. I had the two best dogs on the planet!
You loved chewing on socks, you would lay on your back with your two front paws going back and forth rapidly, it look like you were swimming.
I would say “Swim Mama Swim” and you would go faster and faster. That always put a smile on my face.
I loved playing with you first thing when we woke up, you chased my hand under the covers and would try and bite me . Your fake growls and playful bark would crack me up.
Your KONG was never far from reach, but your Tennis Ball never left your side. (not even at the end)
It would barely fit in your mouth, but that never stopped you from trying to fit in one more.
You were so smart, I would hide your ball and you would find it no matter where I put that dang thing.
You became a mommy and nursed your five babies like a champ. You growled at Bailey whenever he got near the pups, but you eventually forgave him for getting you pregnant in the first place.
You were such an awesome mommy that you knew how to take care of me when I was sick. You never left my side and kissed ( licked) my hand to let you know you were there for me.. ( or that you were hungry) 😉
You moved to 3 different states, 12 different homes, all in 13 years and you had 3 different dads. That’s quite a ride!
I knew this day would get here someday and now I am so grateful that I had 13 wonderful years with you Lola Bella.
That’s 91 years old! I am so blessed to have had you in my life for all those years.
I am so glad I got to be your mommy! I love you baby girl!
Your Dr. was warm and gentle and completely understood our sorrow.
We laid you on the table, you couldn’t get comfortable so we held you close as you drifted off into sleep.
I felt your little body relax and felt your life go out as I looked into your eyes and saw only peace.
Your little pink tongue that kissed me goodbye just seconds before, now lay still with your tiny head in my hands.
I kissed you goodbye and said farewell my Lola Bella, I love you. Swim Mama, Swim.
