This is my third ad for 2SD (2nd St District) and I couldn’t be prouder! One and two were not ( in my opinion) my best, but this whole magazine thing is new to me. So with some great advice from a very talented friend of mine, I figured out what was needed to make a magazine worthy ad for 2SD. However, on the day of the shoot in MAY it turned out to be the day that we had random crazy windy weather, 30 MPH gust winds and it was super cold! A complete random day for AUSTIN in May. So we had to roll with it, GO BIG OR GO HOME, right?!
My amazing friend/model Rona was such a trooper! The minute we stepped outside the wind wrapped our hair around or faces blinding us and whipped our bags backwards. It was so windy my bag ripped apart and down the street my jacket went. It was quite the hilarious movie moment. After we collected ourselves, tamed our manes, we soon found that shooting indoors would be the only way to make this work. This ad is for the NEWCOMERS editon in the JUNE Austin Monthly.
( Here is what went on in my head)
it’s 45 degrees outside,
I need to make this look like summer-
Rona has a scarf on- lose the scarf-
guy oustide has a parka on- this does not look like June
Jo’s across the street has great red.
Love the color in the jewelry
-Rona pick a necklace and hold it up and look in the mirror and smile-
PERFECT! I GOT IT!
