A few years ago, way back in 2007 a play was brought to Fresno, California by a group of women who wanted to let everyone know just what BOLD was all about. BIRTH ON LABOR DAY is an international play by Karen Brody performed all over the world during one particular month, I bet you can guess what month, ( I was actually born on Labor day) so this play is especially close to my heart, plus it has an incredibly powerful message about the empowerment of birth. Not only that, but my sister and handful of other women who had maybe little or close to no experience with performing on stage, put their fears aside and learned their lines and made sure that they were going to give this play 150%!
They did three performances and each one was incredible. I was so thrilled to be a small part of this emotional and may I say BOLD play. It’s been four years since I’ve seen these pictures and they still move me to tears. I can only hope that BOLD comes to Austin, Texas. I would be there in a heartbeat to photograph this monumental movement about Birth.
