A “New Year” with Sabrina Bean Photography
Now that the girls ( my three nieces) have returned from California I am back to blogging. It seems that while they were on holiday, I also took some time to refresh and reconnect. I was able to visit Portland, Oregon and catch up with old friends. I couldn’t wait to go back, I ached for Portland and what I thought was my home, but then a good friend reminded me that “home is where your heart is” and even though I had a great time visiting I knew in my heart that it was time to let go and move forward. Portland will always be a part of me and I will never forget the amazing friends I made in the short time I lived there. Many questions that I had were answered and I felt at peace this time leaving PDX behind ready to find out what will happen in the next chapter of my life here in Austin, Texas.
2011 has been quite the adventure so far and we are only 16 days into the new year. This year one of my pregnancy clients has decided to partake in my custom celebrity package which includes a bi-weekly session to record the progression of her pregnancy. We started at 20 weeks and will continue till she is due. She has also graciously agreed to let me photograph the journey of her baby into this world. Not only is she a client, but she has become a close friend. That is certainly one aspect of my career choice that I love, meeting new people and creating new friendships.
I am so excited to be part of her journey and to witness this momentous event in her life. To be in the same room when life is brought into this world is a such an exciting moment that there are not enough words to describe the feeling and I’m just the one taking the pictures. These progression sessions are so much fun, mainly because she is so much fun. Energetic, sassy and silly would be the way I would describe our time together. At the end of this journey she will receive a small movie of her growth to remember this time in her life and various other goodies including a childbirth education class with Gena Kirby, Doula extraordinaire.
