TRICK OR TREAT with sabrina{bean}photography
Halloween has come and gone, but the memories are in my heart and external hard drive. hee hee. This being our first Halloween in Texas, Ava wanted to be something that had to do with Austin. After seeing the 1.5 million bats fly out from under the Congress bridge she immediately knew what her costume had to be this year. WE on the other hand, waited till the last-minute to come up with our very clever kitty costumes.
We headed to “SOCO” or South Congress for you non Austinites. South Congress is a great place to take the family for a nice stroll with tons of unique boutiques and countless outdoor eateries and yummy pizza parlors. The best one on the strip, according to the locals is Homeslice. A cozy pizzeria with huge authentic NY slices. http://www.homeslicepizza.com/
We met up with some friends and their little girl who is Ava’s newest friend.
We walked down to Amy’s Ice Cream, an Organic Ice Cream parlor with many locations through out Austin. We love it here because they have Vegan ice cream flavors like Banana, Grape and even Schnozberry! Yes! even Schnozberry! Ava of course went with the banana split with Mexican Vanilla, Belgian Chocolate and Seasonal Pumpkin ice cream! Can you say super yummy and decadent. I had two bites before Ava devoured the whole thing. She really didn’t need any candy after that!
Our evening continued with the traditional Trick or Treating and spooky ghouls and haunted houses. Austin really knows how to keep things weird! Hope your Halloween was a Happy one!
