sabrina {bean} photography at the Greenbelt with Karisa and Norman
You may have already read about Karisa and Norman if you have been following my blog/Facebook page. It amazes me that I have only known them for a few weeks and they already feel like family. I actually met Karisa on Facebook. She found my link on a friends page and voila instant friends. It just so happens that “Bean” is the nickname for her niece, so it seemed very natural for Karisa to call me Bean right away. Karisa is a phenomenal chef and a Reiki Master. She is the one who is responsible for my peacefulness as of late. Norman, Karisa’s “Man Mate” as she affectionately calls him, is one of the sweetest gentlemen I have met in a long time. His gentle persona and outgoing nature mixed with Karisa’s charm and wittiness make them an unstoppable duo. They have a love that is so unique and honest. I love hanging out with these two. We decided to take our session somewhere that had meaning to them. They immediately answered the Greenbelt.
The Greenbelt is 809 acres of natural landscape used for outdoor recreation in South Austin. It features over seven miles of land used for biking, hiking and swimming. There are even some areas used for rock climbing. The Greenbelt is free and open to the public, and features wooded trails, shallow swimming areas and limestone cliffs. While it is just minutes from downtown Austin, it offers a secluded retreat for everyone from competitive bikers to families looking for a fun day outdoors.
One would never know that this lush vegetation with flowing clear streams is right off the 360 freeway. Even the parking lot is camouflaged by being inside a business parking lot. Towering trees become a shady canopy above with clean trails and friendly hikers on every turn of the path. The creek was flowing beautifully so we decided to head down there first to enjoy the sounds and views Mother Nature had provided.
A Big Thank You to both Norman and Karisa for their support, love and friendship. I am very blessed to have me these two lovely individuals. I had a great time and I can’t wait for our next adventure.
